Ellen grew up in the United States, Greece, and Jordan and has lived, worked, and studied in six additional countries as an adult. She was formerly fluent in French, German, Greek, and Italian, and conversant in Arabic. Today, she focuses on speaking English and Spanish. Ellen brings over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit realm to MCS, having worked in partnership development, program design and implementation, fundraising, communications, and marketing. As a third culture kid, she feels a special affinity for people who are navigating life in a new country, and she has worked for such multicultural and immigrant-serving organizations as the United Nations, the Peace Corps, Hispanic Access Foundation, and Hispanic Communications Network. Ellen received her undergraduate degree in psychology from Wellesley College and her master’s in international relations from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). In her free time, she works to promote the understanding and practice of early memory interpretation, a transformative psychoanalytical technique developed by pioneering psychiatrist, Alfred Adler.
Myka Felton, PMP, CSM, Language Services Program Director
Myka first came to MCS in 2016 as an intern after completing a semester abroad in Nice, France. She helped organize the 2016 Community Interpreter Training, which she also participated in to receive her Community Interpreter Certification for French. She later transitioned into the Language Service Program Assistant role. Since 2019, Myka has served as the Language Service Program Director. Her Project Management Professional and Certified Scrum Master certifications have prepared her to expertly perform her primary duties as a supervisor, client manager, and contracted vendors manager. Myka holds a BA in Romance Languages, with a focus on the Spanish and French languages, literatures, and cultures from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has also worked as an English teacher in Marseille, France, and has supported MCS as a French linguist on various occasions. Myka loves traveling, expressing her creativity through DIY projects, and spending time with her fur baby, Maxine.
Rekik Worku, Language Services Program Coordinator
Rekik coordinates interpretation services for MCS. She graduated from Smith College with a degree in Statistics and Education and Child Study. Her passions lie in social work and empowering individuals through education. She believes in MCS’ mission to provide language access services and ensure equity to different communities. Her hobbies include but are not limited to knitting, thrifting, and skincare.
