Believe it or not, Multicultural Community Service is celebrating the 15th anniversary of the MCS Community Interpreter Training Program. In our effort to learn more about how the MCS team can strengthen our collaboration with our language practitioners (and better service community members of the District of Columbia), MCS implemented the monthly Let’s Chat! Lunch Sessions. By sharing a meal, the MCS team and interpreter or translator have the opportunity to share and discuss ideas, challengers, and other experiences, as well as enjoy good company. Join us each month to meet one of our language practitioner partners!

“My experience with MCS has afforded me a lot of knowledge than most of the other agencies I work for. The reason I say that is that the assignments I cover are variety, at times entertaining and at times very challenging. I have covered Medical, ABRA,Hearings work evaluation, RSA Mayor’s office, Housing just to mention a few of them. These not only gave experience by trying to read and learn more about the assignments, and vocabulary, but has also equipped me with a lot of recourses that I need for my own self.” –Amharic Interpreter Elizabeth Desta
