Multicultural Community Service’s commitment to break language barriers and build communication bridges will be enhanced this summer with the relaunch of MCS’ Community Interpreter Training. The Community Interpreter Training program will provide professional education and employment opportunities to the bilingual residents of the DMV area.
This curriculum is designed for practicing interpreters with little or no training, aspiring community interpreters, and interpreters who are looking to refresh their skills.
Classes were held Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays between Monday, July 24th – August 7th, 2017.
CIT Students will be required to complete a 10-hour practicum training hours. After the classroom training, students will be required to do a 25-minute Oral Interpretation Skills Assessment. Certificate for completion will be issued after the training and awarded on the graduation day (date TBA).
